What to Bring to a Football Watch Party at Jonathan's Grille

Everyone loves to watch football in a sports bar, and Jonathan’s Grille is one of the best options in Tennessee. If you're wondering what to bring to a football watch party, we've got you covered.

Here's the best part: you can leave the cooler, the crockpot, and the folding chairs at home. We handle the food, the drinks, and the screens, so your packing list is a whole lot shorter than a tailgate. This is what's actually worth bringing.

Your Crew (and a Headcount)

A watch party is only as good as the people yelling at the screen with you. Round up your buddies, your coworkers, or the whole family and make a day of it.

If you're rolling in with a big group, give your location a call ahead of time. Every Jonathan's Grille has a group dining contact who can help with seating, custom menus, drink specials, and even buffet or table service. One heads up: parties of 8 or more get an automatic 20% gratuity, so it's good to know before anyone starts splitting the check.

Your Team Colors

This one's non-negotiable. Dig out the jersey, the lucky hat, or that hoodie you haven't washed since the winning streak started.

On any given Sunday, you'll see Titans fans packed in next to folks pulling for teams from all over the country. Saturdays bring out the college crowd, so wear your colors proud and be ready for some friendly trash talk.

A Game Plan for What You Want to Watch

Every Jonathan's Grille has 55 TVs, so there's a screen in every direction. If you're following an out-of-town team or a game that's not on the main screens, just let your server know when you sit down.

Playing fantasy? Bring a fully charged phone so you can track your guys across every matchup. You'll want it ready when your running back breaks one in the fourth quarter.

A Big Appetite

No need to bring snacks, because our kitchen has game day covered. Everything is made to order, and the menu goes way past your average wing joint. Here are a few table favorites:

  • Wings: go with a dry rub like garlic parmesan or lemon pepper, or pick a sauce from mild all the way up to atomic and Nashville hot

  • Triple Dipper: house-made salsa, queso, and guacamole with tortilla chips, made for passing around the table

  • Bam Bam Shrimp: crispy shrimp tossed in our signature bam bam sauce, and easily one of the most popular starters we serve

  • Nashville Hot Chicken Sliders: hand-battered hot chicken tenders topped with pickle chips

  • Smash Burgers: two signature patties, from the classic with creamy bacon jam to the Cowboy with "Nashville Hot" bacon and fresh jalapeño

Watching what you eat? We've got salads, rice bowls, and a gluten-free cauliflower crust for pizza, so nobody has to sit out.

Good Timing

Knowing when to show up can save you a few bucks. Here's how our daily specials line up with the football schedule at our Tennessee locations:

  • Sunday: two-for-one bottled and draft beer all day, half-price select bottles of wine, and $7 Bloody Marys and mimosas from 11 AM to 10 PM

  • Saturday: $7 Bloody Marys and mimosas from 11 AM to 10 PM for those early college kickoffs, plus happy hour from 3 PM to 7 PM

  • Monday and Thursday: happy hour from 3 PM to 7 PM, with $8 select appetizers from 3 PM to 6 PM, so come early before the night game

  • Late Night: from 10 PM to close, it's two-for-one beer, $8 select appetizers, and $8 one-topping 12" pizzas for those West Coast games that run late

Specials are dine-in only, and our Alabama location runs slightly different deals based on state law.

Your ID and a Ride Home

If you plan on taking advantage of those beer specials, don't forget your ID. Have a designated driver or a rideshare lined up before kickoff, because nobody wants to figure that out after a heartbreaking overtime loss.

The Kids (Seriously)

Jonathan's Grille isn't your typical loud, sticky sports bar. We have a full restaurant side that's clean and comfortable, so it's a great spot to bring the whole family. Chicken tenders and Mason's Topless Cheese pizza are usually an easy win with the little ones.

Come Watch the Game With Us

With locations in Franklin, Bellevue, Brentwood, Germantown, Murfreesboro, Smyrna, Mt. Juliet, Hendersonville, Spring Hill, Gallatin, Chattanooga, Jackson, and Madison, Alabama, there's probably one close to you.

We've been the go-to spot for game day since 1999, and we're still family-owned. So grab your crew, throw on your colors, and come hungry, because we'll take care of the rest.
